Daniel Whistler
Daniel's research focusses on the history of philosophy and its intersection with the life sciences, ecologies and thinking about nature. He has particular interests in Schelling's philosophy of nature and runs the UK Schelling Network. He is the co-author of The Schelling-Eschenmayer Controversy, 1801: Nature and Identity and editor of a three-volume edition of Frans Hemsterhuis' philosophical works*. *He is currently leading an AHRC project on the philosophy of nature past and present, called The Philosophical Life of Plants with partners at Kew Gardens and the Goethe and Schiller Archive in Weimar.
