Theresa L. Miller is an anthropologist who studies human-environment interactions in Indigenous lowland South America through multispecies ethnographic and phenomenological approaches. Her particular research interests include human-plant engagements, environmental justice, food sovereignty, health, and well-being. Currently, she is an Environmental Social Scientist at the Field Museum. She received her DPhil in Anthropology from the University of Oxford and previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History. Her book, Plant Kin: A Multispecies Ethnography in Indigenous Brazil is in press at the University of Texas Press and will be published in early 2019.
